As soon as an individual begins their career with GLO, the opportunity to embark on a business trip is immediately available. Remember, this is a no-seniority business, so it is anyone’s choice as to what opportunities they wish to capitalize on. We send out business trips once a week to nearby cities.
What’s the purpose of a business trip?
A new city is like a new canvas to a painter. It is a blank slate for everyone, whether they be an owner or a beginning recruit, giving all a fresh breath of air.
For leaders, a business trip is essentially their own mini-office for a week or half-week. They host morning meetings, send out car rides, and make executive decisions. However, they always have the office back home to call up for support.
On occasion, our office will also send a selection of account managers and executives to one of our sister locations, where they can network with people at a similar progress level and gain valuable insight.
What are the benefits of business trips to non-profits?
Long before any business trip is sent out, the office always makes the legal and technical arrangements. The non-profits of course benefit from expanded horizons and getting newer people in love with their cause, but there are the added bonuses of testing different markets and getting important data for various communities.
Simply put, expansion wouldn’t be possible, either for us or for our clients, if we did not have amazing travel opportunities.

Rising Star:
Do you see what I see? Do you hear what I hear? One individual, potentially two, gets to network with some of the top managers. Rising Star events are quarterly and give our newest executives a real taste of what it’s like to be the top in the business.
Top Gun:
Highway through the Danger Zone! Two up-and-coming leaders, from each office across the world, who are believed to be the next managers, are sent to an exotic locale. Previous locations include Miami and Denver. They attend speeches hosted by some of the top people throughout the history of our business and get to network with other prospective leaders at extravagant events. Some of the information you’ll hear at Top Gun is the very best our business has to offer.
Miscellaneous:
Our business also has galas and rallies, usually for management purposes. Either way, every trip offered by Great Lakes Outreach provides amazing opportunities for growth and development.
